Ex-Newcastle United right-back James Perch has lifted the lid on what prompted the exit of FabricioColoccini at Newcastle United many years ago. Perch and Coloccini were teammates at Newcastle United for several years.

FabricioColoccini spent the biggest part of his football career with Premier League club Newcastle United and he went on to captain the Northeast outfit before he left to return to his country, Argentina.

Coloccini became a Newcastle United player when he joined from Deportivo La Coruna in Spain in 2008. One of the biggest highlights of his career with the Magpies was when he was appointed club captain in July 2011. He was named in the PFA Team of the Year in April 2012 for his impressive performances in his first season as the Newcastle United skipper.

Newcastle United should keep Benitez

Former Newcastle United defender Fabricio Coloccini stated that the club should hold to Rafael Benitez for as long as they can. He said that he is the manager that can help them stay in the Premier League and that it is important that he remains at the head of the club.

He believes that there is no way that the club will progress if there is no investment in new players and that they will need the experience of a good manager if they are to remain in the Premier Leauge. He said that Rafael Benitez has shown his experience by taking them back to the Premier League and that it will be a mistake if they try to replace the man.
