COLOCCINI OFF?

One of the rumors that were believed on actually coming true last season was Fabricio Coloccini making his return to Argentina as the defender himself stated that he would like to exit his current club, Newcastle United and return to his childhood club San Lorenzo.

San Lorenzo was attempting to sign the player but failed on making any cash offer and Newcastle United would not accept releasing one of their best performers for nothing. Coloccini has now missed out on 2 of Newcastle’s latest Premier League matches as he picked up a knee injury that is expected to leave him out of the playing field for the remainder of the month.

“Not only do we lose Mathieu Debuchy [suspended after a red card] but Colo also looks to have done something to his knee. It could be four to six weeks’’. Pardew said regarding the condition of Coloccini.

Coloccini sustained a back injury last year and he spent the winter recovering at the home of the Argentine FA and while resting he also watched San Lorenzo play some of their match and now that he is injured once more for a significant amount of time, he might finish recovering back in Argentine once more.

Newcastle United’s head boss Alan Pardew has never been opposed on denying Coloccini from completing his recovery in Argentina. But while Coloccini takes his time to be fully back and available to play, Pardew has a few players he wants to sign to the club.

Boruccia Monchengladbach’s Luuk de Jong is one of the strikers on the wish-list of Pardew and he is also targeting a few players that can fill the void left by Coloccini not only now but also when he eventually decides to leave Newcastle United for good.

Sevilla’s Juan Torres Ruiz and West Ham’s James Tomkins are some of the players that Alan Pardew has shown interest in signing.
